Writing

'You should start writing' my father said to me several years ago; it sounded as far fetched as 'why don't you take up paragliding'?  I hate flying and the idea of isolating myself for hours to write wasn't necessarily an appealing notion at that time. 'Write? To write what?' I thought.
That was, until a couple of years ago, on a Sunday morning to be precise. Sundays are stuck in my memory as frightful days , simply because I had been a very sickly child and on Sundays my nausea and my sickness seemed to alway culminate in having a doctor coming to the house to examine me.  He was perhaps rather inexperienced because, until my appendix almost burst two years later, he transferred me to a hospital.
Cutting a long story short, it was  on a Sunday morning, a thoroughly boring and lonely day, when I sat at my kitchen table and started to write my first lines.
Here is something of what I have written since then. Those geniuses amongst you who can read and understand German may decide whether you'd like share this still unpublished and unpolished piece of writing.
For all the others, I apologise for writing in German.

My debut novel 'Die Scham der Lippen'

is now available (15th June 2011) as an e-book.
